Photos: Behind The Scenes at McLean Silver Line Station

Patch went along Tuesday as Terry McAuliffe and Mark Herring, Democratic candidates for governor and attorney general, toured McLean Metro station. Check out photos of the station's progress.

Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for governor, toured the McLean Metro station on the Silver Line Tuesday.
McAuliffe was joined by State Sen. Mark Herring (D-Loudoun), Democratic candidate for attorney general, to campaign before the November general election and talk transportation improvements that will help the economy.
Patch was along for the ride and got plenty of photos of the station, which is still under construction.

Construction of the first half to Wiehle Avenue in Reston is about 94 percent done.
Riders were supposed to be able to use the line by the end of December 2013, but complications could delay the opening until January 2014.
The handoff was scheduled for August, but officials have said Oct. 1 would be a likely date for the handover to Metro, making Jan. 1 the earliest launch date.
