Officials to Answer Tysons Development Questions Tuesday

Residents are encouraged to attend an open house with developers and officials at Westbriar Elementary Tuesday.

Residents with questions about the massive changes coming to Tysons will be able to get some answers Tuesday night during an open house on future development in the area.

Both county officials and developers who have submitted redevelopment applications will be available to residents to answer questions and talk one-on-one. Instead of formal presentations, the event will have table displays detailing specific topics, including the latest on the Silver Line Metro, studies for wide-scale transportation infrastructure improvements and more.

The Board of Supervisors has been busy approving a number of huge developments that are hoped to turn Tysons into the county’s next downtown.

The Commons, the largest residential development so far, was given the green light last week. Projects from CityLine Partners and the Georgelas Group have also been approved, bringing mixed-use high rises closer to the new metro line.

Tuesday's open house is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Westbriar Elementary School, 1741 Pine Valley Drive. Developers and other participants are scheduled to be introduced to attendees at 7:30 p.m.
