Fairfax County officials want your input on a plan to make Tysons Corner the county’s new downtown.

The comprehensive plan, an idea first proposed in 2010, intends to transform Tysons Corner into “Tysons Urban Center,” (the “Corner” would go under the latest version of the plan).

Officials want to take advantage of the four Metro stations planned for the area and build 75 percent of all new development within a half mile block of the Metro. The urban center would include a network of public parks mixed in with retail, housing, and office space that would amount to 100,000 residents and 200,000 jobs.

The hope is that the project could be completed by 2050.

At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, county planning officials will host a public dialogue session to get input on some recent changes to the comprehensive plan. The event will tale place at the Freedom Hill Elementary School cafeteria on 945 Lord Fairfax Road in Vienna.

You can take a look at the full plan and changes online

Those who cannot make it to the meeting can also submit ideas via email at tysons@fairfaxcounty.gov.
