Tysons, McLean Crime: Illegal Swimming Leads to Drowning, Smash-and-Grab Robbery and Other Incidents

Recent incidents in and around the McLean Police District from the Fairfax County Police Department.

The body of Vincent Crapps, 24, was found in the Potomac River on July 1, according to a Montgomery County Police Department statement. Crapps was diving off the cliffs on the Virginia side of the Potomac River near Great Falls Saturday when his friends noticed him go under the water and not resurface.Read more about the incident here.

Smash and Grab - One man is in custody now following a smash-and-grab jewelry store robbery that occurred Tuesday at Tysons Corner mall, according to Fairfax County Police officials. Police are still looking for the man's four accomplices. Read more about the incident here. 

Burglary - A resident of the 3000 block of Rosemary Lane told police someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through a window. The incident occurred on June 28.
