Police: Tysons Corner Bank Robbed, Authorities Investigating

The robbery took place at the Bank of Georgetown on 1850 Towers Crescent Plaza.

Authorities are investigating a Tysons Corner bank robbery.

The incident took place at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Bank of Georgetown on 1850 Towers Crescent Plaza in McLean, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Two men entered the bank, jumped over the counter, and demanded money from an employee, according to police. After receiving money, the two robbers fled.

One of the men wore a black mask and carried a black plastic bag. The second man wore a black mask, a dark-colored jacket, and carried a handgun, according to police. Both men were in their 40s.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of these bank robbers.

The FBI and the Fairfax County Police Department are investigating this bank robbery and request that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or the Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
