Fans of morning drive radio host Jack Diamond, who was a friend to many Washington-area commuters for 24 years on WRQX's MIX 107.3-FM, has finally announced his new gig.

Beginning later this month, Diamond will air on Miami radio station Lite-FM Miami, 101.5-FM, he told his fans Monday via his Facebook page. He will bring The Jack Diamond Morning Show to the morning airwaves there. He told his DC listeners that they will be able to live stream the show and noted: "...yes you will be able to listen in the car!!"
The station is owned by Lincoln Financial Media. You can visit the station's home page and click on "Listen Live" in the top right corner. You can also download the show's app and listen to the show from your smart phone.

Here's a description of the station, courtesy of PCBoomRadio.com:

    Lite Rock
    Miami Radio Station
101.5 Lite FM is South Florida's stress-free radio station. Plays tracks from Sheryl Crow, Barry White, Steve Perry, Faith Hill, Barry Manilow, Michael McDonald, The Bee Gees, Foreigner and more. WLYF, 101.5 FM.

Fans (1,442 as of Tuesday morning) were happy to hear the news:

Ellen said: "How exciting! I grew up in Alexandria, Va listening to you all the time. Living in S FL now, about 2 hours north of MIA. Can't wait to stream you and introduce my kids to you!"

Katherine: "My belief in life is everything happened's for a reason. I was sad when all of you guys on 107.3 kind of disappeared. You made me laugh in my car  on the way to work and I still listened when I got to work."

Tina: "Congratulations on the new gig Jack. You will be greatly missed in the DC area. As a loyal listener for over 23 years, I am excited to report that I just downloaded the 101.5 app so that I can listen to your new morning show."

Diamond was unceremoniously (as is often the case in radio) dumped by Atlanta-based Cumulus Media for a syndicated radio program, The Bert Show. Since adding 107.3-FM to their roster, it's been mostly a harsh welcome for The Bert Show to the DC area. The move by Cumulus saw a big ratings drop for the D.C. station.

Fans of The Jack Diamond Show stayed in touch with Diamond over the long summer via Facebook — commenting on his photos and cross-country road trip, whether it was giving him a thumbs up for his photo of a frozen-in-time gas station or offering encouragement in trying to finish off a Texas-sized steak in the Lone Star State.

Always sprinkled among the comments: "When are you coming back to radio?"

Diamond will begin airing his show with co-host Julie Guy for the Miami station starting at the end of the month, he said. No word on whether Diamond will make the move to Florida or host from the D.C. area.

Will you tune in to The Jack Diamond Morning Show when it begins airing?
