Hey Foodies: Tamale Festival Takes Place this Month in Tysons Corner

Tysons Corner restaurant La Sandía is going to be tamale heaven for the next few weeks.

The restaurant is hosting a Tamale Festival through Jan. 31. The festival includes traditional tamales, specialty tamales, and desert tamales.

If you haven’t had a tamale before, it’s a Latin American comfort food made of stuffed masa and wrapped in corn husks or banana leaves. The tamales can be stuffed with pretty much any kind of protein.
