Franchise Fair Makes 2 Stops: Loudoun & Fredericksburg

Even though this year has flown by, the pace of change in the job market remains painfully slow.  Corporate professionals with years of experience face one of the worst job markets in their lifetimes. Once stable jobs are tenuous; and many senior people who were laid off cannot find work after years of searching; and for millions of smart and capable people, good career options seem to have dried up.

The good news is that other options exist. Every day successful professionals discover new ways to leverage their years of experience and knowledge by launching a fulfilling entrepreneurial career.  The recent government shutdown, recession, and sequestration have pushed many to seek more stability and look to transition to business ownership to do so.

A good way to learn about business ownership is at FranNet of Virginia’s Capital Area Franchise Fair, the semi-annual learning event.  On November 21 from 5:30-8:30pm, the Fair will be making a preview stop in Ashburn to help prospective entrepreneurs explore franchise options that fit with their financial, professional and personal goals. FranNet of Virginia, a franchise matchmaking service that provides free counseling as well as educational seminars to entrepreneurs, is hosting the Fair’s preview night in partnership with the Loudoun Small Business Development Center.

Franchises are available in over 90 different industries that fit a variety of budgets and interests. Finding the right fit is important for success.  Most people equate franchise with “fast food;” but many exist that require fewer hours and far less start-up funds and generate greater profits.
