Roadwork on Route 7 Causes Delays in Tyson's Corner

Commuters can expect delays along Route 7 in Tyson’s Corner between Route 123 and the Dulles Toll Road due to construction work.

The work will continue into September, according to an advisory from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. The work is part of the Dulles Metrorail Project.

Crews are completing paving and restoration work for the east and westbound lanes that run parallel to the new Silver Line. Crews will be working on milling and paving work each night, a process that will create a rough roadway surface during the day, MWAA reports.

Lane closings and shifts will take place each night. Daily traffic alerts are being issued and will be placed on the project website www.dullesmetro.com.

Dates and times may changes as paving and nighttime lane closures can be adversely affected by inclement weather. A 24/7 emergency hotline is available for construction-related issues: 877-585-6789.
