Today in Tyson's: Promoting Your Business Workshop, Vienna Woman's Club Meets

Things to know today, September 18, in Tyson's Corner.

  1. The forecast calls for another nice day, with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures of 72 degrees and lows of 54 in the evening.
  2. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority is hosting a work shop on “Promoting Your Startup: Musts and Mistakes.” The workshop is from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the FCEDA on 8300 Boone Boulevard, suite 450 in Tyson’s Corner. 
  3. The Vienna Woman’s Club meets from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Vienna Community Center on 120 Cherry Street in Vienna. 
  4. Mark your calendar: the Fall for the Book festival starts Sunday and continued until September 27. Meet authors and attend seminars. Find out more about the program. 
  5. Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Karen Garza along with four others will be on a panel discussion called Behind the Headlines: the State of Education in Fairfax County. The forum is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairfax High School on 3501 Rebel Run in Fairfax. The Washington Post-sponsored event is free.
